So as far as my job goes, I am an Air Transportation Specialist-Apprentice. Basically I am a cargo handler. So far I have been doing a lot of training. I am learning all about operating heavy equipment and how to build and handle cargo. I am loving it. I will have a future update with more about my job and hopefully some great pictures to show you what I am working with and on! But I did find out the team I will be working on for the rest of the season. I am pretty happy with it! We will be working nights for the first half of the season.
So one of my recent adventures took me to the Crary Lab on base. It is the big science facility where most of the inside research goes on. It is an amazing place and I am sure I will have future updates with happenings from there. This time a was on a small tour that a ton of people decided to attend, so I didn't get the full effect. But I did get a few picture here and there.
These were some interesting little fish that were curious about anyone to come up to the tank. Since they never see anything like us they aren't really afraid.
They had a touch tank were you could touch stuff.. If you dare!
Last night I made a trip over to Scott Base for American night. It is a Kiwi (New Zealand) base and we can only visit when they invite us. They have a cool little store there and some great views! The seals also like to hang out over there!
